The St Michael and All Angels Ringing Team (SMAART) is a group of hand bell ringers. All ages can play and the only requirement is an ability to count to six, which most of us manage most of the time!
We use both hand bells and Bell plates - a cheaper, lighter version with a sharper sound. We practice at Willowmere Extra Care Development premises in Middlewich on Monday evenings at 7 pm.
Our repertoire is continually increasing in range and includes hymns, carols, folk and popular songs and tunes. We also give occasional public performances.
Anyone is welcome to come and have a go. Over the past few years we have played for St. Luke's Hospice, the Christingle Service at St. Michael;s, Salinae Day Care facility, the residents of Willowmere, Middlewich Heritage Society, various Wl's and Mothers’ Union. We have held workshops for various organisations including 2nd Cledford Brownies. Our most recent concert took place at Tatton Park, Knutsford where we entertained visitors to the Mansion during their Christmas season.
